Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Japanese forward Daizen Maeda from Celtic, securing him on a three-year deal.
The 28-year-old arrives at the top-flight club in a move reportedly valued at £10m,, external having featured for his national team at the 2026 World Cup, where they advanced to the round of 32 before being eliminated by Brazil.
During his time in Glasgow, Maeda found the net 79 times across 212 matches, collecting five league championships, three Scottish Cups, and two League Cups.

“My aim will always be to battle hard, score goals, and provide assists for my team – I will always run and give everything that I have.”
The newly appointed Ipswich manager Gary O’Neil, who succeeded Kieran McKenna at Portman Road earlier this summer, is confident the attacker will prove to be “a valuable member” of the group.
Maeda links up with the Tractor Boys after their return to the highest division was sealed by a second-place finish in the Championship under McKenna last term.
“He works extremely hard and has impressive physical attributes, while also proving over a number of years playing in Scotland that he has the ability to score goals and create for his team,” noted O’Neil.
Maeda’s arrival follows the acquisitions of defender Issa Diop, winger Abdul Fatawu, striker Emersonn, and goalkeeper Kayne van Oevelen.
Furthermore, defender Cedric Kipre and forward Chuba Akpom have made their switches permanent after thriving while on loan the previous season.
