Vitor Matos: Swansea City Boss Signs New Contract

News

Matos has received significant support during the summer transfer window, with Swansea believed to have invested around £15m in Moussa Yeo, Elijah Just and Joseph Opoku, while defender Stephen Welsh has joined on a free transfer.

Further arrivals are expected, although Swansea have already sold key midfielder Ethan Galbraith. There is also uncertainty over whether Zan Vipotnik, the Championship’s leading scorer last season, will remain with the club once the summer window shuts.

“We established strong foundations last season, but our focus must now be on the future as we continue striving to improve and move forward,” Matos said.

“Pre-season has gone well, we have strengthened the squad with some valuable additions, and I am excited about both the upcoming campaign and what lies ahead.”

Matos’ side will complete their pre-season schedule by welcoming Leganes on Saturday, before facing Birmingham City at home in the Carabao Cup the next weekend.

Their league season will begin with an away match against Stoke City on Saturday, 15 August.
