Robbie Ure: Sevilla Near £7.9m Deal for Scottish Striker

News

Sevilla are nearing an agreement to sign Scotland Under-21 forward Robbie Ure from Swedish league leaders IK Sirius in a transfer that could reach 9.2m euros (£7.9m).

The 22-year-old is expected to undergo a medical with the Spanish side on Monday before signing a five-year contract, having been offered the opportunity to become their leading striker at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

The La Liga club will reportedly pay an initial 6.5m euros (£5.5m), with further payments dependent on add-ons.

Sirius sporting director Jonathan Ederstrom confirmed on the club’s website: “We are in the closing stages of talks with an overseas club, so Robbie will not be available for tomorrow’s game against Brommapojkarna.”

Ure has attracted interest from clubs throughout Europe after registering 20 goals and three assists in 20 appearances across all competitions this season.

He started his senior career with Rangers, scoring one goal in three outings, before moving to Belgian side Anderlecht in 2023, where he featured only once for the first team.

His career has flourished since his move to Sweden, with the striker recording 31 goals and seven assists in 50 games for Sirius over the past year.

His 15 goals in the league have helped Sirius climb to the summit of the Allsvenskan, establishing a comfortable 13-point advantage halfway through the campaign.

The former Scotland Under-19 international is also eligible to represent Ukraine and has not yet made a final decision about his international future, although he said last month that he would prefer to wait for an opportunity with Scotland’s senior team.
