What can be expected? Setting a clear target for Bromley this season is difficult. Even their most hopeful supporters could hardly have anticipated such a rapid rise to League One, so ambitions must remain realistic, especially given the considerable spending power of several rivals.
A successful campaign would show that Bromley’s methods can be effective at this standard. Securing a few memorable victories and preserving their League One status would represent a positive outcome.
Main strengths? Outstanding fitness levels and a tough, physical style have shaped Bromley’s identity in recent seasons. The team is also tactically capable and can outperform opponents with the ball, but Andy Woodman’s approach is primarily built around exceptional conditioning, powerful and imposing players, and a major threat from set pieces.
Those qualities, combined with the remarkable unity Woodman has developed within the squad, should provide a strong foundation for the season ahead.
Potential weaknesses? A significant portion of the squad has yet to prove itself at this standard. Although the club’s summer transfer activity has added relevant experience, uncertainty remains over how quickly the players will adjust to League One football.
Limited depth and quality in attacking positions could prove particularly restrictive. Michael Cheek exceeded expectations in League Two and may well continue scoring after stepping up another division, but Bromley cannot rely on their leading figure alone and will need goals from across the team.
Player who could make the difference? Ethon Archer, a promising winger borrowed from Luton Town. A gifted set-piece specialist, he already has League One experience, recording 11 goals across 81 matches for Cheltenham and adding three goals in 23 appearances during a temporary spell with Port Vale last season.
