Lewie Coyle (off 70): His early deep delivery toward McBurnie from the right wing-back channel showed Hull’s intention to threaten from wide positions. 7.
Semi Ajayi (off 63): Reacted quickly to fire in the rebound for Hull’s opening goal, his first in the Premier League since scoring for West Brom against Wolves in January 2021. He was also commanding in defence. 9.
John Egan: Operated at the heart of the back three and moved forward into midfield whenever Hull were in possession. He handled the role impressively. 8.
Ryan Giles (off 84): Offered a consistent attacking outlet like Coyle, while also recovering diligently to prevent the opposition from finding similar space. 7.
Regan Slater: Delivered a superb curling free-kick for Nobel Mendy to attack and score Hull’s second goal. He also contributed strongly to an impressive midfield performance. 7.
Matt Crooks: Controlled the contest in central midfield through hard work, leadership and consistently high standards. His understated but excellent display included a late forward run that forced Lammens into a clearance. 8.
Nobel Mendy (off 63): Marked his debut with a goal and delivered a composed defensive performance, making important clearances whenever required. 8.
Mohamed Belloumi: Played with great composure, combining accurate short passes with excellent ball retention to help Hull establish their rhythm. 8.
Oli McBurnie: Caused constant problems for the visiting defence. Although he did not find the net, his presence and movement opened valuable space for those around him. 8.
Elliot Stroud (off 70): Was fortunate to avoid punishment for an early late challenge on Harry Maguire, which frustrated the Manchester United defender. Beyond that incident, he produced a highly encouraging display. 7.
