Mourinho believes opposing players deliberately provoke his star winger from the opening whistle, describing it as a tactic the Brazilian encounters in nearly every match.
“It is difficult for him, and he must learn to manage his emotions extremely well,” he said.
Following the winger’s yellow card in Mourinho’s first competitive game since returning to Real Madrid, the Portuguese coach urged Vinicius Jr to understand that his conduct on the pitch can also influence the mood of the supporters.
“I talked to him during the interval and gave him a specific warning: ‘If you score, think carefully about your celebration so that I do not have to take you off.’ It is a challenging situation,” he said.
“Society now places great emphasis on preventing bullying, yet Vini Jr continues to face intimidation from both rival players and spectators.
“Our responsibility is to guide him and ensure he is as well prepared as possible. That is all we can do.”
