Serie A side Fiorentina have secured a season-long loan deal for Bournemouth‘s Spanish defender Alex Jimenez.
The agreement includes a €20 million (£17 million) option to make the transfer permanent, meaning he can resume playing after being suspended by his club pending the outcome of an investigation into social media accusations.
The 21-year-old was dropped from Bournemouth’s first team in May following what the club described as a “serious matter” linked to “posts circulating on social media”.
Jimenez originally joined the south coast club on loan from AC Milan before completing a permanent move in February, signing a contract that runs until 2031.
The Spain Under-21 international featured in 32 matches for Bournemouth last season, finding the net once.
