A semi-final spot is the bare minimum target for South Africa, as it would book Desiree Ellis’s side a third straight World Cup berth, after they progressed to the knockout phase in Australia and New Zealand in 2023.
“The technical team understands both the highs of lifting the Wafcon trophy and the lows of falling short. We possess the formula for success,” Jane continued.
South Africa find themselves in Group B alongside Tanzania, Ivory Coast, and Burkina Faso.
