Sullivan resigned as the club’s joint chairman in June after a collaborative investigation by Panorama and the Times newspaper examined allegations concerning his conduct.
Several women have alleged that billionaire businessman Sullivan misused his position of influence and pursued them for sex, with some saying they were teenagers at the time.
The investigation documented claims from seven women covering several decades, beginning in the 1980s. The women, then in their late teens or early twenties, were aspiring models looking for opportunities at Sullivan’s Daily and Sunday Sport newspapers.
They allege that Sullivan engaged in sexually exploitative and predatory conduct, including urging them to perform sexual acts during professional meetings and suggesting that doing so could advance their careers.
Sullivan, 77, has said he “categorically” rejects the allegations, which relate to the years in which he accumulated wealth through pornography, publishing and football.
The Independent Football Regulator (IFR) approached West Ham regarding what it described as “extremely serious allegations” and requested “urgent information” from Sullivan to assess whether he remains suitable for the position.
