Bournemouth Near £11.1m Deal for Juanlu

News

Bournemouth are close to completing an £11.1m deal for Sevilla right-back Juanlu as new head coach Marco Rose puts the finishing touches to his squad.

The south-coast club are expected to pay £9.4m up front for the 22-year-old, with another £1.7m available through add-ons, before handing him a long-term contract.

Despite his age, Juanlu has already gained considerable experience. The tall, attack-minded full-back has also represented Spain regularly at youth level.

He would become the Cherries’ third addition of the summer, following the earlier £25.7m arrivals of Antonio Silva from Benfica and striker Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche.

Rose’s remaining priority is to recruit a backup goalkeeper who can compete with Djordje Petrovic. Bournemouth are continuing their pre-season preparations ahead of a landmark campaign that will include their first appearance in the Europa League.

Sevilla are interested in Enes Unal, with Bournemouth prepared to let the striker leave. The Turkey international is also considering opportunities in his home country and Saudi Arabia as he seeks a transfer this summer.

Senior figures at the Vitality Stadium have indicated that key players Eli Junior Kroupi, Rayan and Alex Scott are not available for transfer.
