Everton and Crystal Palace have finalized an exchange involving Dwight McNeil and Brennan Johnson.
Everton have announced that 25-year-old Johnson has agreed to a four-year contract, with McNeil heading the other way to Selhurst Park.
McNeil, 26, came close to joining Palace in February after the club arranged a loan with an option that would have made the transfer permanent for £20m this summer.
Although McNeil successfully completed his medical, the proposed move collapsed because the necessary documents were not submitted before the deadline.
His partner, Megan Sharpley, later claimed in a social media post that Palace’s handling of the situation had negatively affected his mental well-being.
Wales international Johnson, who netted Tottenham Hotspur’s decisive goal against Manchester United in the Europa League final in May 2025, joined Palace for £35m in January.
The 25-year-old featured 26 times for Palace across all competitions but did not score during his spell at Selhurst Park.
