Tottenham Reach Loan Agreement for Manchester City Forward Omar Marmoush

News

Since arriving from Frankfurt, Marmoush has registered 16 goals in 62 matches across all competitions for City.

Eight of those goals came during his 36 outings in the 2025-26 season, although his involvement in the Premier League declined significantly.

He made just eight league starts and accumulated roughly 700 minutes, which was less playing time than he received after arriving halfway through the previous campaign.

He contributed three goals and three assists in the league, while his expected goals total of 3.53 closely matched the number he scored. This suggests that finishing was not the main concern.

Marmoush struggled for regular opportunities in a team whose attack revolves around Haaland, with City also adding more depth to their forward line.

Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke has dealt with fitness issues over the last 18 months, while fellow forward Richarlison is now in the final year of his contract.

Although Marmoush is naturally a centre-forward, he has frequently operated in several different attacking positions.

During his time at Frankfurt, he usually played centrally but was also selected as a supporting striker or on the left. City have used him in much the same way, primarily through the middle while occasionally placing him out wide or behind another attacker.

Such versatility may appeal to Tottenham manager Roberto de Zerbi. His tactical approach often asks forwards to interchange positions, move towards the ball and exploit the gaps that appear when defenders are pulled forward. Marmoush is capable of fulfilling both responsibilities.
