Reigning champions Arsenal opened their campaign in convincing fashion against newly promoted Coventry, but Monday’s meeting with Aston Villa should provide a much sterner challenge.
After several departures from Villa Park and a heavy loss to Brighton last week, could Unai Emery’s side be heading for another difficult evening?
Football analyst Chris Sutton believes that could be the case.
“I can only see one team winning this match,” he said.
“Aston Villa began slowly last season and have since lost several important players, while Arsenal look capable of overwhelming many opponents this year.
“They should continue to improve as the campaign progresses, which is a worrying prospect for the rest of the league.”
Sutton is forecasting the outcome of all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, competing against artificial intelligence, supporters and a rotating selection of guests.
