Everton have reached a £40m agreement to sign Monaco attacker Folarin Balogun.
The Toffees are looking to reinforce their attack before Tuesday’s transfer deadline, with 25-year-old Balogun and Tottenham forward Richarlison identified as possible additions.
Richarlison, the 29-year-old Brazil international, is understood to have concerns about rejoining the club he departed for Spurs in 2022.
Everton have therefore continued their pursuit of United States striker Balogun, who moved from his boyhood side Arsenal to Monaco in 2023.
Balogun has registered 31 goals in 91 appearances in all competitions for the French club. At international level, he has scored 12 times in 31 matches for the United States.
Tottenham reached an agreement with Everton on Friday evening to sign 26-year-old Senegal winger Iliman Ndiaye, while Richarlison was expected to head in the opposite direction through a separate deal.
However, Richarlison reportedly could not settle personal terms with his former club, despite Everton being thought to have submitted a £35m bid for the forward.
Manchester City have since agreed a package potentially worth as much as £65m for Ndiaye.
