FC Cincinnati have completed the signing of former Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia.
The 27-year-old Dutch international has joined the MLS side on a free transfer after leaving Old Trafford at the conclusion of last season.
Malacia has agreed a contract with Cincinnati that lasts until next June and includes an option for the 2027-28 campaign.
He recorded 50 appearances during an injury-disrupted period with United after moving from Feyenoord to the 20-time English champions in 2022.
Cincinnati general manager Chris Albright said the club was delighted to bring in a player with Malacia’s level of experience.
He added that the defender has competed at the highest level and knows what is required to perform in demanding environments.
Albright also praised Malacia’s ability in possession, defensive awareness and commitment to the team, describing him as a valuable addition to the squad.
