Manchester City forward Erling Haaland has become just the second player to score against every Premier League opponent he has encountered.
The Norwegian reached the milestone with a second-half strike during City’s 5-3 victory over Sunderland, extending his record to goals against all 25 teams he has faced. That total could rise to 26 if he finds the net against Hull City this season.
Harry Kane is the only other player in the competition’s history to accomplish this feat, having scored against each of the 32 clubs he came up against.
Despite their flawless records, neither Haaland nor Kane appears among the competition’s top 10 players for the number of different opponents scored against.
Frank Lampard leads that category, with his 178 goals from 1997 to 2015 coming against 39 separate teams. He is now in charge of Coventry.
Andrew Cole occupies second place after scoring against 38 clubs, while Alan Shearer and Jermain Defoe each found the net against 37 different sides.
Wayne Rooney sits fifth with goals against 36 opponents, followed by Teddy Sheringham on 35.
Thierry Henry, Michael Owen, Paul Scholes, Steven Gerrard and Ryan Giggs complete the leading group, with each player having scored against 34 different teams.
