World Cup 2026: England ace Jude Bellingham reaches peak as Messi looms

Uncategorized

After rescuing England from a humiliating loss against Slovakia at Euro 2024, Bellingham memorably shouted “Who Else?” toward the supporters.

That moment came following his stunning bicycle-kick goal in the 95th minute in Gelsenkirchen, which set the stage for an extra-time triumph in the round of 16.

Since then, his journey has included challenges, at one stage even being left out of Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

But at this World Cup, he has only gone from strength to strength.

He might be excused for echoing that “who else?” sentiment once more after scoring twice in a 3-2 victory in Mexico City, and then netting another brace to eliminate Norway.

This was yet another demonstration of his knack for delivering crucial goals and decisive contributions whenever England needs them the most.

Out of 12 international goals, nine have come at major tournaments, with five giving England the lead and two securing equalisers.

Only Gary Lineker, with six goals in 1986, has matched Bellingham’s tally of non-penalty strikes in a single World Cup, and the young star still has opportunities to increase his count before the competition concludes.

To further underline his all-around excellence, Erling Haaland is the only other player in this tournament to have scored with his left foot, right foot, and a header.

In essence, he is displaying remarkable variety in his finishing. Some goals are classic tap-ins, others come from perfectly timed runs into the area, and a few feature breathtaking solo efforts showcasing power, speed, and technical flair.
