Dan James and Neco Williams found the net after Oscar Bobb’s early opener for Norway, giving Wales their first victory in seven matches.
Cabango made his 18th senior international appearance as Wales recorded their first-ever triumph in Nations League A.
“I would probably consider that my finest performance for Wales,” Cabango said.
“I really enjoyed the match. It was a tough contest, and we managed to come out victorious.
“That physical aspect is something I relish. Whenever the ball is there to be challenged for, I will give everything to win it, and that approach worked today.
“We had to respond after our previous match, and I thought the entire group did exactly that. Everyone contributed, including the substitutes, and it was an excellent team display.”
Head coach Craig Bellamy applauded Cabango and his central defensive partner, captain Ben Davies, for limiting Haaland and Norway’s attacking players.
“They delivered an outstanding performance and were extremely impressive,” Bellamy said.
“The crucial element, which we discussed beforehand and worked on in training, was preventing them from getting close to our penalty area.
“Achieving that is far more difficult than it sounds, so we kept pressing and working tirelessly to force them to stay as far from our goal as possible.
“Their performance was exceptional.”
