Lautaro Martínez struck in the 91st minute as Inter recovered from a two-goal deficit to claim a dramatic 3-2 home win over Napoli and maintain their flawless start to the defence of their Serie A crown.
Napoli appeared set for victory after Matteo Politano and Rasmus Højlund gave them a 2-0 advantage by the 53rd minute. Martínez then reduced the gap before Marcus Thuram equalised with eight minutes remaining. Both teams had opportunities to find a winner, but Inter made theirs count when the Argentine converted at the far post following a corner.
Following a scoreless opening half, the contest came alive in the 50th minute when Politano scored from a rebound. Højlund doubled Napoli’s lead three minutes later, collecting Giovanni di Lorenzo’s pass before firing in from the edge of the penalty area.
Inter responded within three minutes through a composed finish from Martínez, while Thuram headed in Carlos Augusto’s delivery to restore parity.
The match remained finely balanced as play moved rapidly from one end to the other, but Inter eventually found the decisive breakthrough and secured all three points.
Torino earned their first victory under Ignazio Abate after overturning a deficit to defeat Fiorentina 2-1 away from home.
Fiorentina went ahead when Mateo Pellegrino attempted a long-range effort that Lucas Perri should have dealt with comfortably, only for the Torino goalkeeper to let the ball slip past him.
Perri redeemed himself with several important stops before the visitors completed their comeback. Rolando Mandragora drove a shot into the Fiorentina goal from outside the area to make it 1-1, and Ché Adams converted from close range in the 82nd minute to seal the victory.

In the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich were punished for several wasted second-half opportunities from Harry Kane and Luiz Díaz as they drew at Schalke. Loris Karius produced a string of superb saves, leaving the visitors without a league goal for the first time since their stalemate with Bayer Leverkusen in February 2025.
With Kane and Michael Olise initially among the substitutes, Bayern controlled possession but struggled to manufacture clear openings. A determined Schalke defence held firm to collect the club’s first point of the campaign.

Arsenal loanee Ethan Nwaneri played a part in a late own goal that completed Borussia Dortmund’s comeback from two goals behind in an eventful 3-2 win at Hoffenheim.
Hoffenheim controlled much of the opening hour, but Dortmund found their rhythm and turned the match around by scoring three times in the final half-hour.
Goals from Leon Avdullahu and Tim Lemperle put Hoffenheim two ahead after 54 minutes. Nwaneri, who became the Premier League’s youngest-ever player in 2024, joined Dortmund on a season-long deadline-day loan and entered the match after half an hour when Filippo Mane was injured.
Serhou Guirassy revived Dortmund’s chances with a goal shortly after the hour, then created Fábio Silva’s equaliser five minutes later.
Four minutes before the end of normal time, Nwaneri advanced down the left and directed a shot towards the middle. The ball took a heavy deflection off Hoffenheim defender Albian Hajdari before crossing the line.
Bundesliga newcomers Elversberg extended their impressive introduction to the top division by beating Borussia Mönchengladbach 4-3 away, securing a second victory in as many matches.
Gladbach twice moved in front and held a 3-1 advantage midway through the second half, but Elversberg mounted a comeback despite manager Vincent Wagner receiving a second yellow card shortly before half-time.
Felix Keidel made it 3-3 with 10 minutes remaining, before Maurice Krattenmacher scored his second goal of the contest in stoppage time to put the visitors ahead.
Bayer Leverkusen responded emphatically to the previous weekend’s defeat by Elversberg, sweeping aside Union Berlin with a 4-0 home triumph.
Argentine internationals Equi Fernández and Facundo Medina gave Leverkusen a two-goal lead before the interval. England defender Jarell Quansah then supplied the pass for Patrik Schick’s goal, with Ibrahim Maza completing the scoring through an elegant late finish.

Julián Álvarez, who sought a move from Atlético to Barcelona during the summer, returned from illness as a substitute but had little influence after entering in the second half.
