A woman referee sustained an injury and was forced to leave the field after being knocked down during a friendly match between French side Metz and Dutch club Fortuna Sittard.
Mathilde Demoncay was reported to have suffered a concussion, external after falling to the ground while attempting to separate players involved in an altercation.
The dispute erupted in the 40th minute when two opponents confronted one another following a shirt-pulling incident, prompting several teammates to become involved.
Demoncay tried to step between the players but was knocked off balance and landed heavily on the pitch.
She stayed on the ground for several minutes while clutching her arm as fellow officials, security officers and medical personnel entered the field to calm the situation and evaluate her injuries.
The 26-year-old returned as an assistant referee when the match resumed, but she departed at half-time and was replaced by another official.
Metz secured a 3-1 victory.
