Everton have completed the acquisition of Finnish international forward Jutta Rantala from Leicester City.
Leicester have stated, external that Rantala still had one year left on her existing deal, with sources indicating Everton triggered an undisclosed buyout clause to land the 26-year-old.
News outlets confirmed on Tuesday that the two sides, who had already negotiated two transfers earlier in the window, had come to terms on the move.
French attacker Noemie Mouchon arrived at Everton from Leicester on a free transfer last week, while Welsh forward Hannah Cain made her return to Merseyside from the Foxes two days later.
Rantala found the net 13 times in 48 outings after arriving at Leicester from Swedish side Vittsjo GIK in 2023.
She earned Leicester’s player of the year honours and finished as their leading scorer in 2023-24, though a knee issue hampered her following campaign.
Having tallied 10 goals across 36 senior appearances for Finland, Rantala also featured in their squad for Euro 2025.
She becomes the sixth player to exit Leicester this summer following the club’s relegation from the Women’s Super League in June.
Everton are aiming to improve upon last season’s eighth-place WSL finish after the exit of manager Brian Sorensen.
Scott Phelan was appointed as his permanent successor earlier in the window, with the club now having brought in six new recruits, including the three from Leicester.
