Manchester United have completed the signing of goalkeeper Janina Leitzig from Leicester City for an undisclosed sum.
The 27-year-old is the club’s second acquisition of the summer, following the arrival of defender Andrea Medina.
The former Germany youth international is believed to have agreed a three-year contract after United activated a release clause in her Leicester deal, which was renewed in 2025.
Leitzig spent three years at Leicester, originally joining on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich, and quickly established herself as a regular in the starting lineup.
She departs having made close to 70 appearances in all competitions, though her efforts were not enough to prevent Leicester from being relegated from the Women’s Super League last season.
Leitzig had been a long-term target for United, and reports first surfaced in 2023 that they had made contact with the German goalkeeper while she was on loan at Leicester.
