Mauricio Pochettino has reached an agreement to remain in charge of the United States men’s national team through 2030.
The former Tottenham and Chelsea manager took over in September 2024 and guided the tournament co-hosts into the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup, where Belgium ended their campaign.
The national federation announced, external that the renewed deal would give Pochettino and his coaching team wider responsibilities. They will provide guidance on the development of the national-team system, youth football, coach education, cooperation with professional leagues and other technical areas.
Pochettino said that his first two years with the federation had shown there was significant scope to further improve the men’s national-team programme.
He added that his staff welcomed the chance to apply their experience across more areas of the sport and help create stronger development routes for players, coaches and teams throughout the organisation.
Their goal is to leave a long-term mark on the game in a country that has received them warmly, with an influence that reaches beyond performances and results on the pitch.
