Norway shirts sell out before clash with Three Lions

World Cup World Cup 2026

Enthusiasm from supporters has “far exceeded expectations”, according to commercial director Runar Pahr Andresen, who noted that orders have reached an unprecedented peak this year.

Retailers placed orders for roughly 250,000 kits this year, a sharp rise from about 50,000 during the equivalent timeframe last year, Andresen informed a media outlet.

Torshov Sport in Oslo took delivery of a fresh supply of Norwegian national team shirts on Tuesday, leading to queues stretching around the block before the store opened on Wednesday.

Local journalists gauged the line to be roughly 600 metres long, winding through multiple streets. Some devoted supporters even brought seating and waited as long as 12 hours.

Store manager Anders Lilleberg remarked to Norwegian publication VG that the excitement was extraordinary.

“I’ve worked here for quite a long time, but I’ve never witnessed anything like the current atmosphere. It’s completely crazy,” he stated.

The store is now encouraging fans to sign up for its upcoming kit release, though it cannot promise all shirts will arrive ahead of Saturday’s crucial fixture.

Runar Pahr Andresen explained that while they would have preferred greater stock availability, production quantities are determined “far in advance”.

“It is difficult to ramp up production considerably in the midst of an ongoing World Cup,” he went on to say.
