Rangers Complete Signing of Japanese Winger Daisuke Yokota on Three-Year Contract

News

Japanese winger Daisuke Yokota is eager to create unforgettable moments after completing his transfer from Hannover to Rangers.

The 26-year-old has agreed to a three-year contract, which includes an option for a further season, becoming Rangers’ ninth arrival of the summer.

After relocating to Germany during his teenage years, Yokota developed his career with FSV Frankfurt and Carl Zeiss Jena before playing for Valmiera in Latvia and Gornik Zabrze in Poland.

He joined Belgian club Gent in 2024 but struggled to secure a regular first-team role, leading to loan spells at Kaiserslautern and Hannover.

Hannover later made his move permanent earlier this summer after he recorded five goals and four assists in Germany’s second division.

Yokota expressed his delight at joining Rangers, describing the team as a major club with a rich history, devoted supporters and strong ambitions. He added that completing the move was a proud moment in his career.

He said his priority is to contribute to the team’s success this season and share memorable experiences with the club.
