Sam Parkin’s EFL Insights as West Ham Begin to Look Ominous

News

West Ham have found excellent form, climbing to the top of the Championship with four consecutive victories, most recently a dominant 6-0 win over Wrexham on Friday.

Parkin: “They have registered 20 goals in only seven matches, with their attacking talent now beginning to shine.

“There were probably some defensive concerns during the opening stages of the campaign, and the forwards helped disguise those weaknesses to an extent. However, everything clicked into place on Friday night.

“After the match, Jarrod Bowen highlighted the value of the transfer window ending, as it gives the squad clarity about which players will remain at the club.

“When a Championship team can field Manor Solomon, Jarrod Bowen, Valentin Castellanos and Joel Piroe together, that attacking combination is bound to create major problems.

“That was evident on Friday evening. Wrexham performed poorly, but their display should not be judged too harshly given the exceptional depth and quality available to West Ham.

“Considering how many goals West Ham have scored during their past four fixtures, the early signs look increasingly worrying for the rest of the Championship.”
