Chermiti, who has represented Portugal at under-21 level, has played 43 times for Rangers, starting 30 matches and scoring 15 goals.
“It is understandable that he has attracted a significant valuation because of his considerable potential. Fortunately, he belongs to us, and we expect that to remain unchanged,” McInnes said.
“We are currently working to strengthen the squad and are still looking to recruit players who can complement the quality already here, including Youssef.
“We would not welcome such a move at any stage. Although the reports emerged today, our attention is firmly on the match.”
After the game, however, McInnes said: “I am disappointed for him that he had to leave the pitch on a stretcher. He had looked lively and was making intelligent runs into space.
“He was playing with real intent, and we certainly felt his absence. He left wearing a protective boot and a knee brace, and he will undergo a scan tomorrow.
“We do not want anyone drawing conclusions before the results arrive. Hopefully, the scan brings positive news and he can return to action for Rangers soon.”
Rangers have already completed nine signings this summer following McInnes’ arrival from Heart of Midlothian, and the manager remains eager to recruit further players.
“We have submitted offers for several players, and a number of discussions are still progressing. Ideally, we would have preferred some of these deals to be completed sooner,” he added.
“If there are any developments involving our targets, we hope to share them over the next few days.”
