Worrall began his professional journey at Nottingham Forest, making 226 appearances for his hometown club before moving to Burnley in the summer of 2024.
The central defender, who previously spent time on loan with Dagenham & Redbridge, Rangers and Besiktas, was voted Forest’s player of the season for the 2020-21 campaign.
A season later, he played a key role in Forest’s promotion to the Premier League through the Championship play-offs and earned a place in the division’s 2021-22 team of the season.
During his temporary spell at Besiktas in 2023-24, he lifted the Turkish Cup before completing a permanent move to Turf Moor.
Since joining Burnley, Worrall has featured 27 times in all competitions.
Worrall’s anticipated arrival may allow England defender Conor Coady, who has earned 10 international caps and moved from Leicester City to Wrexham last summer, to depart the Welsh club.
Coady has been absent from all four of Wrexham’s matchday squads in every competition this season.
Elliot Lee, Harry Ashfield and Aaron James could also exit the Racecourse Ground, either temporarily or permanently, within the next 48 hours.
The Red Dragons have already strengthened their squad this summer by bringing in goalkeeper Anthony Patterson, wing-backs Danny Imray, Issa Kabore and Jacques Ekomie, along with central midfielder Ben Whiteman.
Wrexham may also add another attacking player before the summer transfer window closes.
Parkinson’s team will resume their Championship campaign away to Millwall on Wednesday evening, with kick-off scheduled for 19:45 BST.
