In a social media statement, Celtic said: “LASK informed the club that they would like to hold a moment of silence before tonight’s fixture to honour our supporter who became unwell and sadly died after last week’s opening leg at Celtic Park.
“We are grateful to LASK for this thoughtful gesture.”
Celtic previously expressed gratitude to the emergency services and supporters who helped during what the club described as a “deeply tragic event”.
The club added: “Our heartfelt sympathies, thoughts and prayers are with the supporter’s family, and we will provide them with every possible assistance during this incredibly painful period.”
Martin O’Neill’s side will take a 3-0 lead into the return fixture at the Raiffeisen Arena.
Victory over the two legs will secure a place in the Champions League’s highly rewarding group phase.
