Manchester City have reached an agreement to recruit Palmeiras winger Allan Elias in a transfer valued at up to £34.2m.
The 22-year-old Brazilian is expected to replace fellow countryman Savinho, who appears close to completing a move to Tottenham.
City will reportedly pay £32m upfront for Allan, with a further £2.2m available through add-ons. His medical is due to take place within the next few days.
The club are also holding advanced negotiations over the sale of Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush to Spurs. People familiar with the talks believe there is a strong possibility that the transfer will be finalised before the 1 September deadline.
Negotiations between the clubs are continuing, although several aspects of the proposed agreement still need to be settled.
Nico Gonzalez could also leave the Etihad Stadium before the transfer window closes, with Newcastle showing significant interest in the Spanish midfielder.
