Minnie was found after police responded to a call at the Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath shortly after midnight on Monday.
Her father, Christopher Rice, 35, of Wakefield in West Yorkshire, entered no plea during a private hearing at Forfar Sheriff Court on Wednesday and was held in custody.
Police Scotland confirmed that they were not seeking anyone else in relation to Minnie’s death. Specialist officers are supporting the other family members, who had been camping nearby.
Minnie’s family said in a statement: “We are heartbroken by the death of our deeply loved, truly remarkable, beautiful and courageous Minnie Moo.
“We ask that our family’s privacy be respected during this exceptionally painful time.”
