Robbie Savage has urged his Peterborough players to adopt a new “mindset” and end their spell of disappointing performances.
In Savage’s first game at the helm, Posh struck four times within nine first-half minutes to claim a 4-1 EFL Trophy victory over Ipswich Town U21s.
The 51-year-old is set to oversee his first League One fixture from the touchline when Peterborough visit Leicester City on Saturday.
Savage said the team must stop focusing primarily on containing their opponents and instead concentrate on expressing their own identity.
He wants his players to perform with ambition, play entertaining football and reward the more than 3,200 supporters expected to travel to Leicester.
Savage believes the squad has not fulfilled its potential but is capable of defeating any opponent if the players produce their best football.
Tuesday’s EFL Trophy triumph sent Posh into the competition’s last 32. Peterborough lifted the trophy for a record-equalling third time in 2025.
