Born in Kilgetty, Cullen entered Swansea’s academy when he was eight before making his first-team debut under Graham Potter in a 1-0 EFL Cup loss to Crystal Palace in August 2018.
His first goal for the Swans came in a thrilling 4-1 victory against Reading on the last day of the extended 2019-20 season, helping Steve Cooper’s team claim a place in the Championship play-offs.
Across all competitions, Cullen has registered 37 goals in 207 appearances for Swansea.
However, the Swans hope to retain Zan Vipotnik, their leading Championship scorer last season, while giving former Celtic forward Adam Idah a more consistent role after injuries disrupted his debut campaign.
Because Cullen has struggled to establish himself as the regular starting centre-forward, the 27-year-old has frequently played in a deeper position, including for Craig Bellamy’s Wales side.
Vitor Matos’ squad has already been strengthened this summer by the arrivals of wide players Elijah Just and Moussa Yeo, who is also capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, along with Stephen Welsh, Joseph Opoku and Leo Walta.
