Wolves forward Tolu Arokodare has completed a season-long loan move to Dutch club Ajax for the 2026-27 campaign, with an option for the Eredivisie side to sign him permanently next summer.
A Wolves training session was reportedly called off recently after the Nigerian international allegedly declined to leave the field.
Arokodare rejected claims that he had refused to take part in training, writing on social media: “I have always been proud of behaving professionally throughout my career and consistently upholding the highest standards in training.”
The 25-year-old arrived at Molineux from Genk in September 2025 for £24m, signing a four-year contract after registering 31 league goals across 79 appearances for the Belgian club.
However, he struggled to reproduce that form in the Premier League, scoring only three goals in 33 matches during a season that ended with Wolves dropping into the Championship.
The forward also faced disciplinary action in April after an altercation with teammate Mateus Mane.
Ajax placed fifth in the Eredivisie last season and will compete in the Europa Conference League this term if they successfully navigate the play-off round.
