Como have completed the signing of Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah in a transfer valued at more than £30m.
The 27-year-old has agreed to a five-year deal with Cesc Fabregas’ team, who earned a place in the Champions League after finishing fourth in Serie A last season.
Chelsea are set to receive £25.7m upfront, while performance-related bonuses could increase the fee by another £5.1m after lengthy talks between the clubs.
The central defender, who has earned two senior caps for England and received a late call-up to the country’s World Cup squad, departs his childhood club nearly two decades after joining its academy.
Fabregas described Chalobah as a major addition whose arrival reflects the club’s ambitions. The Como coach previously spent a brief period alongside the defender at Stamford Bridge.
He added that Chalobah possesses strong leadership qualities, can improve the squad and has made him delighted by choosing to join Como.
Chalobah expressed his excitement and pride at completing the move, describing Como as a growing and ambitious project while highlighting the opportunity to work with Fabregas again.
The England defender played 151 matches for Chelsea across all competitions and collected five trophies, including the FA Cup in 2018 and the Conference League in 2025.
During his career, he also spent time on loan at Ipswich, Huddersfield, Lorient and Crystal Palace.
