Julian Alvarez’s possible switch to Arsenal may become one of the most significant transfers to follow, as uncertainty continues to surround the Atletico Madrid forward’s future.
The 26-year-old reportedly wants to leave Atletico, while the club is unwilling to let him join Barcelona. However, they could be prepared to negotiate with Arsenal.
Arsenal have tracked Alvarez for some time and are keeping a close eye on the developing situation, with Atletico reportedly demanding 150 million euros (£128 million).
Alvarez has been absent from several training sessions and was not part of the squad that travelled to play Sevilla on Saturday, with Simeone explaining that the striker was not fit enough to feature.
Simeone has nevertheless sought to leave room for reconciliation, stating that he will “do everything” possible to ensure Alvarez feels valued when he resumes training.
