Crystal Palace have completed the permanent signing of England defender Ben Chilwell from RC Strasbourg.
The 29-year-old is back at Selhurst Park after helping the Eagles lift the FA Cup during his loan spell in the latter half of the 2024-25 season.
Chilwell expressed his delight at returning, saying he was pleased to reunite with familiar teammates and eager to meet the squad and supporters before beginning his next chapter at the club.
The Conference League champions finalized the transfer after Tuesday’s 23:00 BST deadline by lodging the required deal sheet with the Premier League.
Chilwell has earned 21 caps for England and has also represented Chelsea, Leicester City and Huddersfield Town during his career.
He played for Strasbourg last season after moving to the Ligue 1 club from Chelsea in September 2025.
Palace chairman Steve Parish praised Chilwell’s ability and experience, highlighting the important contribution he made to the club’s first trophy triumph the previous year.
Parish also said the club was delighted to have the defender back and hoped he would contribute to more achievements in the future.
