Guillem Balague, a journalist from Spain:
Spain – the strongest side.
France – boasts the finest individual and the most terrifying offensive line.
Argentina – the smartest approach: achieving more with fewer resources than the rest.
England – two elite performers hitting their stride.
Each of the four remaining teams possesses the qualities required to lift the trophy.
Should Spain manage to control possession against France and nullify their counterattacks – while also being sharper in front of goal than in previous matches – they will be well placed to reach the final.
But they must deliver a flawless performance, with Lamine Yamal at his very best (or close to it).
Argentina will aim to keep the match against England tight and uneventful, waiting for a flash of genius from Lionel Messi or Julian Alvarez. Yet they have been flirting with danger.
England are still searching for their true playing style but show tremendous character and have two global superstars.
A Spain versus England final would be spectacular. In many ways a win-win situation for me, though I would love to see England claim a World Cup soon. This summer might be the moment.
Supporters of Spain based in the US:
Lionel: Facing France will be difficult, but I believe we can overcome them and, if we do, we’ll be in a great position. Our attack and defense are both solid. The only concern is that Pedri hasn’t yet performed at this intensity.
Jack: Argentina appear powerful, yet England shouldn’t be dismissed. They have Harry Kane, one of the trickiest forwards on the planet to handle.
Michel: Spain will triumph, I’m certain. Nobody fancies our chances against France, but we’ll dictate the play and defeat them. Whoever wins that match will go on to become champions.
