Arsenal have entered discussions with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal regarding a potential transfer for winger Gabriel Martinelli.
The Brazilian forward could depart this summer after manager Mikel Arteta informed him that he is not part of his plans.
Galatasaray expressed an interest in Martinelli earlier in the transfer window and submitted a £45m offer, but the player was unwilling to consider relocating to Istanbul.
Al-Hilal have reportedly indicated to Arsenal that they are prepared to exceed the Turkish club’s proposal.
Martinelli moved to Arsenal from Brazilian club Ituano in 2019 and has one year left on his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Alongside their pursuit of Martinelli, Al-Hilal are also exploring a deal for Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins.
The England forward was absent from Aston Villa’s opening-weekend loss to Brighton on Sunday, while manager Unai Emery declined to confirm that he would remain at Villa Park.
