Manchester United youngster Jacob Devaney is heading back to the Scottish Premiership after completing a loan move to Hibernian, who have the option to sign him permanently.
The 19-year-old midfielder led United’s Premier League 2 team during the opening half of last season before joining St Mirren, where he played 18 matches.
Operating in a deep midfield role, the Republic of Ireland Under-21 player recorded one goal and one assist during his time with the Paisley side.
Devaney also appeared for United in pre-season fixtures against Wrexham and Rosenborg in July, finding the net against the Norwegian club.
Hibs head coach David Gray described him as a technically gifted young international who is eager to improve and continue his development.
Gray added that securing his arrival before the transfer deadline was an encouraging step and that the club would help him adapt as quickly as possible.
