Crystal Palace, newly back in the Women’s Super League, have completed the signing of forward Bethany England.
The ex-Tottenham skipper, whose deal ran out at the end of the season, has agreed a two-year contract that includes an option to extend for an additional 12 months.
Aged 32, she brings a wealth of experience, having lifted multiple trophies during her spell at Chelsea and played a pivotal part in Tottenham’s climb within the league.
She was also a member of the England squad that triumphed at Euro 2022 and reached the final of the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
Over seven years at Chelsea, England collected four WSL titles, two Women’s FA Cups, and two League Cups.
“It feels fantastic to be joining Crystal Palace. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and get going,” said England, set to wear the number nine jersey.
“This is a club with real ambition. They’ve been in the top flight before, they’ve secured two impressive promotions in a row, and you can see the commitment they’re making to the women’s side.
“They’re pushing hard to compete at the highest level, and the facilities are outstanding. I’m hoping to create lasting memories here, find the net regularly, and help write a new chapter for this football club.”
England has scored 87 WSL goals in total and departed Tottenham as their record league scorer with 32.
Palace earned promotion back to the WSL last season by finishing second in the Championship, having been relegated in 2025.
“We’re over the moon to have Bethany on board,” said manager Jo Potter.
“She has consistently delivered goals at every stop, and I’m confident she’ll be a vital player for us in the campaign ahead.”
