Wycombe Wanderers have dismissed manager Michael Duff after failing to win any of their opening five League One matches.
First-team coach Alex Morris has also departed, with the Buckinghamshire club collecting only three points from the first 15 available.
The 48-year-old, who previously managed Cheltenham Town, Barnsley, Swansea City and Huddersfield, spent almost a year in charge after succeeding Michael Dodds on 18 September 2025. His tenure began with a similarly difficult run last season.
Wycombe eventually recovered to secure a top-half finish. Despite suffering only two league defeats so far this season, Duff has become the first manager in England’s top four divisions to lose his job during the campaign.

“This decision follows a disappointing sequence of results dating back to the spring, and the club believes a change in direction is now necessary.”
Wycombe defeated Rotherham on the final day of last season, but that remains their only victory in the past 13 matches across all competitions. That run includes a Carabao Cup loss to Stevenage and a Vertu Trophy draw against Reading.
Former Crewe Alexandra manager Morris joined Wycombe in October 2025 after working as part of Stoke City’s coaching staff for two years.
