Paul Pogba appears set to depart Monaco as negotiations continue over the potential early termination of his contract.
The former World Cup champion moved to the Ligue 1 club last summer after receiving clearance to resume his professional career following a doping ban.
Pogba agreed to a two-year contract that was scheduled to remain valid until the conclusion of next season.
However, discussions concerning an early departure are reportedly taking place and could be finalized in the near future.
Monaco have yet to issue a statement regarding the matter.
Injuries limited Pogba during his debut campaign with Monaco, although there had been optimism that the French midfielder would feature more consistently this season.
The appointment of Filipe Luis as Sebastien Pocognoli’s replacement may nevertheless prompt the club to adopt a new approach in central midfield.
Pogba initially received a four-year provisional suspension after testing positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) in February 2024, based on a sample collected in August 2023.
He insisted the violation was unintentional, explaining that he had unknowingly been given a supplement containing a prohibited substance.
The French international, who lifted the World Cup in 2018, was cleared to return in March 2025 after the Court of Arbitration for Sport shortened his suspension to 18 months.
