Forest Green Rovers have allowed manager Robbie Savage to hold talks with another club as reports continue to connect him with the managerial vacancy at Peterborough United.
The National League club also confirmed that Savage would not be on the touchline for Tuesday evening’s home fixture against Wealdstone.
When questioned on Saturday about possible contact from Peterborough, Savage did not dismiss the reports, although he said he was unaware of any approach from the club.
“I’m not sure. My focus is on preparing for the next match, and I’m looking forward to seeing my team play,” he said.
The former Wales international took charge of Forest Green on 1 July 2025 after previously managing non-league side Macclesfield Town.
The 51-year-old former midfielder, whose playing career included spells with Derby County, Birmingham City, Leicester City and Blackburn Rovers, led Forest Green to a seventh-place finish last season before they lost in the play-off eliminators.
Forest Green are 12th after 10 matches this season, having recorded four victories, two draws and four losses.
Peterborough are searching for a new head coach after dismissing Luke Williams on 19 September following a disappointing opening to the campaign.
The club currently occupies 23rd place in League One after winning only one of its first eight league fixtures.
