Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Côte d’Ivoire centre-back Ousmane Diomande from Sporting for an undisclosed amount, believed to be £34.2m.
The 22-year-old defender, who was part of Côte d’Ivoire’s World Cup squad, has signed a four-year contract with Forest that includes an option for another season.
Forest chief football officer George Syrianos praised Diomande’s extensive experience at such a young age, highlighting his important contributions to title-winning sides and his involvement in the closing stages of the Champions League. He believes that background will help the defender settle quickly at the club.
Diomande started his senior career in Denmark with FC Midtjylland. After moving to Sporting in January 2023, he went on to play 132 matches for the Portuguese side across all competitions.
He was an influential figure during Sporting’s Champions League campaign last season, starting both matches in their quarter-final loss to Arsenal. He also completed the full match in Côte d’Ivoire’s World Cup group-stage victory over Curaçao.
Fulham have recruited midfielder Shea Charles from Southampton in a deal reportedly worth £30m, potentially making him the most expensive Northern Ireland international. The 22-year-old has agreed a five-year contract, while the club can extend it for an additional 12 months.
Charles described Fulham as an ambitious club with a clear plan, which manager Alvaro Arbeloa outlined to him. He said joining the team was a major honour and expressed hope that the move would help establish his Premier League career while proving beneficial for both himself and the supporters.
Filip Jorgensen has moved to Strasbourg on a season-long loan from Chelsea. The 24-year-old goalkeeper joined the London club from Villarreal in 2024 and has since made 36 appearances.
Jorgensen played in all but one of Chelsea’s Conference League fixtures last year and recorded 12 appearances across all competitions. He will spend the 2026-27 season with Strasbourg after the French side placed eighth in Ligue 1 last term.
