Women’s Super League: Crystal Palace Recruit Tottenham Defender Molly Bartrip

News

Crystal Palace, recently promoted to the Women’s Super League, have completed the signing of Tottenham defender Molly Bartrip for an undisclosed amount.

The 30-year-old has agreed to a three-year contract and will link up again with former Spurs captain Bethany England, another of Palace’s summer additions.

Bartrip made more than 100 appearances across five seasons with Tottenham and was appointed vice-captain in 2023.

She featured in every match of the 2024–25 campaign, earning a new three-year deal following her consistent performances.

The defender, a former England youth international, also helped Tottenham reach the Women’s FA Cup final for the first time in the club’s history in 2024.

Palace have enjoyed a productive transfer window after securing their return to the WSL by finishing second in the division below last season.

The arrivals of Bartrip and England add considerable top-flight experience to the squad, while Palace have also recruited Lexi Lloyd-Smith, the leading scorer in WSL 2 last season.
