Everton have brought in Holly McNamara on a free transfer following the expiration of her contract with Melbourne City.
The 23-year-old forward has twice claimed the A-League Women’s Golden Boot.
Everton stated they beat “a broad spectrum of elite clubs from Europe and the United States” to secure McNamara’s signature.
She becomes the fourth summer addition for Everton, along with Noemie Mouchon, Hannah Cain and Zara Kramzar.
“It feels surreal to be here. Goodison Park is such an iconic stadium. I am very fortunate to be here,” McNamara said.
“Everton possess a very rich history and that attracted me to the club. It is a good club with big ambitions and an exciting project for the coming years.
“Another major factor was the opportunity to compete in the world’s top league. It is extremely competitive and any side can defeat anyone else.
“I’m extremely excited to give absolutely everything for this club to win and to do as well as possible.”
McNamara was voted the A-League’s young player of the year for 2022, and she played a part in Australia’s journey to the 2026 Women’s Asian Cup final.
She will don the number nine jersey for Everton.
