London City Lionesses defender Jana Fernandez has agreed to a contract extension that will keep her with the club through 2029.
The 24-year-old has established herself as an important member of Eder Maestre’s squad since arriving from Barcelona last year.
Fernandez featured in every Women’s Super League fixture during London City’s first top-flight season, helping the team secure a sixth-place finish.
Her displays at right-back also led supporters to name her the club’s player of the season.
Fernandez said she was thrilled to extend her stay with London City.
She explained that she arrived in England a year earlier with ambitions for what she and the club could achieve in the future.
Describing London City as a club defined by potential, excitement and development, she added that she feels settled and at home there.
She believes the players, staff and supporters are creating something special together and is eager to continue contributing.
Before moving to England, Fernandez spent her entire career at Barcelona, progressing through the academy and winning five domestic league titles.
She also lifted the Champions League trophy and claimed the Copa de la Reina on three occasions.
At international level, Fernandez was included in the Spain squad that ended Euro 2025 as runners-up behind England.
