Coventry City have completed the signing of Jamaican central defender Ethan Pinnock from Brentford for an undisclosed sum, believed to be approximately £6m., external
The 33-year-old arrived from Barnsley in 2019 and went on to play 216 matches for the Bees, contributing 12 goals.
The defender had entered the last year of his agreement with the West London side.
Pinnock said he was delighted to join Coventry City and begin the next stage of his career with the club.
He added that returning to the Premier League after 25 years was a significant achievement for everyone connected with Coventry and that he was eager to contribute.
Pinnock was an important figure in Brentford’s promotion to the Premier League, although he later fell out of favour and made only eight appearances across all competitions last season.
His move follows that of former colleague Frank Onyeka, who also left Brentford for Coventry during the summer.
The Sky Blues have invested more than £100m in new players this summer. Pinnock becomes their 10th addition and the second defender recruited after Aurele Amenda joined from Eintracht Frankfurt in July.
