Man Utd in Deadline-Day Talks to Sign Leicester Prospect Louis Page

News

Manchester United are continuing negotiations with Leicester City over a deadline-day transfer for promising midfielder Louis Page.

United remain uncertain about whether an agreement can be finalised before Tuesday’s 11pm deadline, although officials are actively pursuing a deal that could be worth considerably more than £10m.

The 18-year-old made his senior debut in August 2025 and has quickly established a strong reputation, recording 25 appearances in all competitions.

United’s short-term intentions for Page remain unclear, as the club has already recruited three international midfielders during a summer focused on rebuilding that area of the squad.

Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos have already featured for the team, while Carlos Baleba, signed from Brighton for £70m, is expected to miss the next few weeks because of a minor ankle problem.

Completing the transfer could reassure supporters who have become concerned by the club’s limited activity on deadline day.

Although some outside the club have called for the addition of a left-back, sources indicate that no such signing is expected.

Netherlands forward Joshua Zirkzee had been expected to depart, but a potential switch to Juventus did not progress, making it increasingly probable that he will stay in Michael Carrick’s squad.

There is still no confirmation on whether young full-back Harry Amass will be permitted to leave the club.
